Dear Mr. President:
We write to you in behalf of hundreds of people who were injured from the actions of drug and alcohol addicts. We appreciate your efforts to control the situation with drug and alcohol abuse and all that you have been doing in order not to allow the drug takers to work with any technical equipment or in situations where it can be dangerous to other people.
Unfortunately, a lot of irresponsible people use so-called 'detoxes' to pass alcohol and drug addiction tests; after that nothing can be found out and that people go again to work as if nothing had happened. It's clearly seen that those people can injure and, misfortunately, do injure other people. We all still remember the accident with the man who smoked marijuana before driving the bus that crashed in April, 2005. That situation occurred because he took 'detox' and than successfully passed a drug test. The result was tragic - lives of two children and injuries of others. And that is not the only accident where person who took 'detox' is guilty of the deaths of other people.
We write to you with a request of overlooking the drug and alcohol addiction problem and we want rehab centers to be funded additionally in order to provide the best help to the drug and alcohol addicts. We also want to ask you to invest more money in developing new, more effective ways to determine alcohol and drugs in the human blood.
